Welcome to Side-Tracked, home of artwork by Fred Downes-Grainger.
On Sunday 19th September, Wanstead Highstreet in North-East London will be playing host to the Wanstead Art Trail. For one week this event will see scores of local artists have pieces of their work kindly hosted for free by the retailers along the highstreet. People can come along and pick up a map of the highstreet, detailing the where-abouts of all the artwork.
Other than the obvious benefit to the artists of exposure and art sales, the Art Trail is designed to increase awareness and trade among the participating retailers and generally add to the fabric of the local community. The opening day coincides with the Wanstead Village Fair, so come along for a pleasant afternoons enjoyment.
For my own part, a couple of my paintings will be hosted in the Wanstead branch of Spicer McColl estate agents to whom I give many thanks! Check the below image and Google Maps link for where this is (practically outside a Central Line stop, so no excuses).
